+ 12 - 3 | § Life On Mars in the '80s

Sadly, the excellent UK police/time-travel/sur-bloody-real series, Life On Mars “Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time...?”, came to an end this week. Happily, the BBC has now announced a follow-on series, Ashes To Ashes, which is certain to must-see viewing for all ‘80s fans.

Life On Mars was set in the year 1973. Featuring (possible?) time traveller, Sam Tyler (John Simm), the series made a star of his non-PC boss, DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister). In the spin-off series, Gene Hunt will be back but Sam won’t. The period will also change. No longer set in the ‘70s, Ashes To Ashes will move forward into the fabulous ‘80s - 1981, to be exact - which happens to be the year when I started my career as cub pop journalist, interviewing the likes of Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, OMD and Modern Romance.

The BBC has not yet announced whether or not they will be requiring my services for this new series. I just want them to know that if they need me, I am definitely available :-) !
