+ 7 - 4 | § JoBoxers Official Web Site

The Official JoBoxers web site has now been redesigned and features biographies, a discography, pictures, music and even a video. JoBoxers were big in the British music charts in 1982 and came back into the news recently after their hit Just Got Lucky featured in the hit film, 40 Year Old Virgin. The JoBoxers site is at: http://www.joboxers.net/

+ 7 - 5 | § Barry Gibb DVD - Now Voyager

Barry Gibb's Now Voyager DVD will be released on 30th January, 2006. This 'epic visual journey' accompanies Gibb's landmark album of the same name. The concept film comprises a multitude of music videos and was originally released in 1984. It has now been remastered in DTS 5.1 Surround Sound. With the film starring Barry Gibb himself, as well as Michael Hordern (Watership Down, Gandhi), the narrative sees Gibb travelling to a world in between life and death.

+ 4 - 7 | § Rocky Horror, Richard O'Brien and me

Just chanced upon this site all about The Rocky Horror Show and its creator, Richard O'Brien. Notice the section of Portraits. Here you will find some stunning pix of Richard in full drag - frocks, make-up, wigs, the lot! I can reveal that these were taken in a specialist transvestite store called Transformations back in the early '90s. And why was Richard in this store? Erm, well, you can blame that on me...

It all came about as an idea for my ill-fated 'adult humour magazine' 18 Rated (the one that got banned by W H Smiths (blush) ). I decided to ask Richard if he would let us get him dragged up by the professionals. After a wee bit of humming and hawing, he consented. Actually, I think he quite enjoyed it. I know I did! I recall him singing Tammy Wynette's classic, Stand By Your Man as he was being kitted up ("Sometimes it's hard to be a woman...." - seemed oddly appropriate, somehow).

Later, I had lunch with Richard when who should join us at our table but Lionel Blair! Ah, talk about stars in my eyes.... :-)
