Leee John of 80s pop soul group Imagination releases a new Jazz album.
“FEEL MY SOUL”, the new Jazz album from Leee John is something which would sit nicely in your dinner jazz box, ready for when you have guests and need the smooth back-drop, if on the oher hand like me - you never have these occasions you could play it with your Saturday night take-away.
Its a a blend of Smooth Jazzy Soul-Funky, Jazzfusiony flavours. As soon as I had barred myself from Imagining Leee in glitter gear singing Flashback - the whole album started to take on a very cool and mellow feel, Leee's vocal lends itself well to the smooth jazz style.
The album has been recorded with three top quality musicians :Stéphane Huchard on Drums, Stephane Kerechi on Bass (both of these musicians are from The Paris Jazz Big Band and play with top Jazz musicians in Europe).John Watson does a fine job on piano he's worked with Leee before and with many major UK artists, John also writes and produces his own material.
The entire album was recorded in France at the Alhambra Colbert in the small town of Rochefort, the whole journey and recording session can be viewed on the bonus DVD Making Of, Feel My Soul.
Its an album to relax with and a conversation piece at that dinner party when some-one says who is that on vocal?
